Someone asked me how to use one design to make more. She knew that it could be done but didn’t know how. So I made a video.
I use http://sumopaint.com, a helpful site with many features such as you can use it for free if you don’t mind the adverts. Even if you do mind them, it’s only a few dollars a year for the Pro version so you can avoid the ads.
Open your design file from your computer and go to Filters -> Distort, then explore the menu. Try them all out and see which you like most.
Challenge Yourself.
When I create a new design, I challenge myself to create at least 20 variations using different programs.
Some patterns won’t do, especially when there’s nothing in them that grabs you.
I create patterns I would enjoy coloring. Some are easier than others – variety is good, it stops us becoming stale.
Challenge yourself to create different shapes and styles of patterns. Mandalas are popular but there are other shapes such as rectangles, flowers, stars, pentagons, hexagons, octagons, etc.
Try changing your round mandala into a star mandala. Changing the shape changes the position and style of patterns inside that shape.
Your Bit.
Watch the video and have a go. Make sure you do it on a design you have editing rights to or, better still, which you created.
Have fun!
Leave a comment to let me know how you got on!

Hi Connie
This is the only free program I use. I can recommend others but they all cost.
Thanks for commenting
